The true meaning of Christmas

The Philippines is known to have the longest and merriest celebration of Christmas. The AIM community proved this to be true as it celebrated the most wonderful time of the year through a series of parties and a bazaar at the Zen garden.

A number of Christmas parties to celebrate the year were also held all throughout the month. The month was started  with a party for the AIM Staff hosted by the AIM Student Association. At the last day of classes, the AIM Chrismaschella which showcased the talents of AIM staff and officials. The AIM Store and the security personnel had their own parties as well.

The MBA batch of 2018 also had a meaningful Christmas party that started off with a sumptuous lunch while being serenaded by the AIM band featuring Christmas songs. The party was filled with a series of fun games like “bring me” and charades wherein different personalities made everyone laugh hard and the classic “white elephant” exchange of gifts.

These Christmas parties would not have become possible if not for the joy in the hearts of the AIM community, and the generosity of sponsors who – in the spirit of giving – shared their blessings. Christmas, after all, is about giving and loving others as the person behind the celebration gave his life and loved us first.

As we celebrate Christmas with our loved ones, let us then remember the reason of the season. The greatest gift and true meaning of Christmas is found in Luke 2:8-12,

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2018 to all!
